Letter from William Tisdale to the Council of Safety.
Dr Sir:
You will receive a Letter by the Hand of Mr Stanley from Me, recommendg him to your Notice. I am sorry to Inform you that since the writing the s'd Letter I have been inform'd of several Circumstances in the Conduct of the aforesd gentleman which puts me under the disagreeable Necessity of desiring you to look upon that Letter as tho' it was never wrote. In such a case as this I should
think it unpardonable to deceive any Gentleman, more especially a Member of the hon. Council of Safety, & am with greatst RespectDr Sir your M. Obe. Hum. Sert,
