At the Court at Kensington the 6th day of November 1758.
Present
The King's most Excellent Majesty in Council.

Whereas the Lords Commissioners for Trade and Plantations have this day laid before His Majesty at this Board (pursuant to

His Majesty's Order for that purpose) a Warrant to authorize and require the Governor or Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Province of North Carolina in America to cause Letters Patent to be passed under the Seal of the said Province for constituting and appointing Charles Berry Esqre to be Chief Justice of that Province in the room of Peter Henley Esqre deceased to hold and execute the said Office during His Majesty Pleasure, and the Residence of the said Charles Berry within the said Province—And His Majesty in Council having been pleased to approve of the said Warrant (which is hereunto annexed). Doth hereby Order that the Right Honourable William Pitt Esqre One of His Majesty's Principal Secretarys of State do lay the same before His Majesty for His Royal Signature.——
