Sir,

By Capt. Jenkins we received the prisoners Elliott &c. agreeable to order of your Committee, The Council highly approve of the Conduct of that Body, and beg Leave to return them thanks thro you for the Vigilance and activity which they have shewn in supporting the Cause of Liberty. With respect to the Company of Light Horse, which you have thought the particular Circumstances of your Country required we can only say that we see nothing objectionable therein, provided that they never act without

Orders from the Committee, that they draw no pay unless in actual service, that they be not employed without absolute necessity, and that no more of them be called out at any one time than Exigency of the Occasion may require.—
