LETTER FROM J. RUTLEDGE TO GOV. CASWELL.

Sir:
In consequence of a recommendation from the Privy Council, the honorable Mr. Drayton, a member of that board, waits on the Convention of North Carolina to solicit aid of men from that state for the defence of this. I doubt not that proper attention will be paid to his application, and hope it will meet with success.
