“After the Battle of Brandywine, 11th Sept. 1777, 2nd and 3rd N. C. Regiments consolidated and called the 2nd.”

“After the Battle of Germantown, 4th Oct. 1777, 4th and 1st N. C. Regiments consolidated, and called the 1st, commanded by Col. Thos. Clark.'
