Camp at Downings, Sept. the 10th, 1780.
Sir:
Here inclosed I have the honour to forward to your Excellency General return of the Troops under my Command fit for duty, & refer you to Gen. Caswell for a state of the arms and further particularities.
I expect to be in Salisbury by Wednesday; from thence will send to your Excellency a fresh return of the Troops & of the arms, which will be more regularly than the shortness of time permitted me to get this done.I am, Sir,
