Halifax, 29th March, 1782.
Sir:
The bearer, William Cox, hath in charge a black horse which he affirms was sent by Colonel John Branch for the use of the State Troops. I am in want of a horse for the use of this post.
If your Excellency thinks proper, I will receive him in lieu of the Grey one delivered to Doctor Ramsey by your order.
