Sir:

Enclosed I have sent you a warrant for four hundred pounds in specie on the Commissioner of confiscated property in the County of Craven to be paid from the monies arising from the sale of Cornet’s house lot and Wharf in New Berne for the use of the Delegates in Congress. I know not whether you intend to go on with Mr. Blount or wait to relieve him in the fall; the warrant, however, is at your pleasure, which you will please to draw for as will suit yourself and Mr. Blount. Should there not be a sufficiency of ready money arising from the sales for you both on going forward at this time, a bill perhaps may be negotiated for the purpose on that fund. I am much importuned by Governor Rutledge to urge on the Delegates; a representation is greatly wanted in Congress from this State as business of the first moment to the States is expected to be shortly agitated there. Please to signify your intentions on this subject by the first opportunity.
