TO THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FROM GOV. MARTIN.
[From Executive Letter Book.]

[Circular.]

June 10th, 1782.

Sir:

Whereas, the great scarcity of Indian Corn in the Public Grainaries of this State from whence the draughts of Soldiers for compleating the Continental Battalions, and the different post of the army in the same are to derive support, and to prevent the inhabitants from immediate distress, make it necessary that the payments of the Certificates of the Members of Assembly in that Article should be postponed until a longer period.

By, and with the advice of the Council of State, you are, therefore, hereby required to delay the payment of the said certificates until the first day of September next.

Yours, &c.,
ALEX. MARTIN.
