GOV. THOS. BURKE TO BOWLING SMITH.

Halifax, February 13th, 1782.

Sir:

With all possible Dispatch you will proceed immediately to Kingston. If Maj. Mountflorence is there deliver him the Packets you are charged with; and if he is not there, leave those for him with the Commissioner of Dobbs County, with instructions to be forwarded directly. From thence you will take the Nearest Route to Wilmington & leave the papers for that District with Capt. Ware, A. A. Pt., whom you will find at that place. Take Receipts for the papers, & return to this place as soon as possible.
