Hillsborough, 14th May, 1783.

Dr. Sir:

I take the oppy. of informing you that I hope we shall finish this week, & of consequence shall want my Horses on Saturday & beg you will order up Sheffield wt. them on that day. I must refer you to Mr. Johnson for particulars, & can only mention that the Land Office Bill for the Redemption of Certificates at 10 pr. Ct. acres is passed the Depreciation Bill; also a Bill for emitting 100,000 will without doubt pass, for the payment of the Continentals & the other Demands for the year allowed by the Assembly; in this Bill is inclosed the Tax, which as it now stand will be payable one penny in the new currency or Specie, Two pence in certificates or the old paper at the Depreciation.
