Edenton, 27th Jan., 1789.

Sir:

I am favoured with yours of the 10th and wish you had at the same time enclosed an Account of the quantity of Tobacco which you have purchased and whether you have compleated the purchase intended to be made this season; as soon as I receive your return I will lay your proposal before the Council and inform you in what manner they approve of it.
