Description This photograph shows a flume emptying into an inlet the the junction of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Route 610 at Rockfish Gap. Straw covers the grass in the inlet, and the road appears to be covered in gravel and unpaved. A white road barrier is visible on the side of the road. This image shows the point at which the Blue Ridge Parkway to the south would become Skyline Drive to the north. The photograph was taken near milepost 0 on July 15, 1943.
