Description | Image shows the frame of a roof and its gable. The roof is part of the Ramsey Cabin, which was disassembled near milepost 50, restored, and reconstructed at the Humpback Rocks Visitor Center and Mountain Farm. A note with the photograph indicates that the roof frame is built of poplar poles, the gable studs are split chestnut, and the gabled weather boarding is split oak. This image was taken near milepost 5.8 in Section 1B of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Taken by C. S. Grossman in March 1953. |
