Description | The image shows the leaves and flowers of the plant Dutchman's breeches (Dicentra cucullaria). The plant was found along a branch which enters Roanoke River 500 yards east of Route 11 at southern city limits. The photograph was taken in Roanoke County, Virginia, and marked by the National Park Service as being near milepost 125 in section 1N of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Photographer's remarks on photocard: "There is a particularly fine display of this plant at Dixie Caverns about April 28." |
