Description Image shows traffic congestion in the Peaks of Otter area. There are two lines of automobiles that need to merge. They are headed in the direction of the Blue Ridge Parkway. A park ranger is standing in a small grassy median between these two lines of automobiles. There is also a line of automobiles that have turned off of the Blue Ridge Parkway and are headed in the opposite direction. There are many automobiles parked along the side of the road. The Peaks of Otter visitor center is visible in the background of the image, and the parking lot of the visitor center is also full of parked cars. A wooden sign is visible in the image, and it reads "Parkway" with an arrow pointing straight ahead, and "Camps-Picnic" with an arrow pointing to the right. The image was taken near the intersection of Virginia State Route 43 and the Blue Ridge Parkway, near milepost 86 in Section 1K of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Taken by David L.
