Title | Reconstruction of Mathews [Matthews] Cabin at Mabry Mill |
Date | November 26, 1956 |
Description | Image of the Matthews Cabin being reconstructed in the Mabry Mill area near milepost 176.1, section 1T of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin appears to be in the middle of the reconstruction process; it is lacking a roof and a worker can be seen working on the second floor of the structure. Another worker can be seen on the ground level to the right of the cabin. There is building supplies in front of the cabin, with numbered crates filled with stone, presumably for the foundation and chimney. Image taken from the National Park Service, Blue Ridge Parkway Headquarters. Photographed by Earl W. Estes on November 26, 1956. |
