Description | Image shows a group of park visitors on a stone staircase, which is surrounded by large boulders. A few of the boulders have been marked with graffiti in the form of initials. Most of the people on the staircase are headed toward the top, although there is one person near the bottom who is headed down. There is a sign at the bottom of the staircase, that is partially obscured in the image, which is titled "Sharp Top Mountain - Elevation 3875". The image was taken on Sharp Top Mountain, one of the Peaks of Otter, near milepost 85.9 and Section 1K of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Taken by Earl W. Estes, Jr. on August 14, 1960. |
