Description Image shows the excavation site for a pedestrian shelter on Sharp Top Mountain. In the foreground of the image is an area of fairly level ground, and behind that ground is an area with rocks and large boulders. There is a metal frame lying on the ground near the rocks and other rubble. The image was taken on Sharp Top Mountain, near milepost 85.9 and Section 1K of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Taken in April 1949.
