Description | This land map shows plans for Recreational-Service-Scenic Development in the Pine Spur area in the Shenandoah-Great Smoky Mountains Section of the Appalachian National Parkway, in Franklin and Floyd Counties, Va. It was created by C.K.S. in November of 1934. In the bottom left corner there is a table outlining the "Schedule of Lands Embraced in this Development," that lists the land parcel number, name of land owner, approximate number of acres, price, and other remarks. Land owners listed include R.W. Clayton; J.W. Walton, Est.; Enoch Reynolds; Sarah Stewart; John Mason; Will Nichols; Malcolm and Jack; Wylie G. Webb; A.R. and Ralph G. Williams; and J.M. and M.I. Price. The total acres listed is 479. The map shows the outlines of different plots of land with the owner's name included. There are also notes regarding the location of springs, trees, and roads on the land. The Appalachian National Parkway runs through the top left corner of the map. |
