Description The map shows a topographic and land map of Recreational-Service-Scenic Development in the Peaks of Otter area of the Shenandoah-Great Smoky Mountains National Parkway, in Bedford and Botetourt Counties, Va. The map was designed by C.K.S. in November of 1934. The map shows boundaries of land owned privately by Peaks of Otter, Inc. (totalling 673 acres) and by Harry W. Jones (totalling 120 acres), in addition to U.S. National Forest land. A recreational area is outlined by dotted lines toward the center of the map, at an intersection of roads identified as Sheep Creek Road, Jennings Creek Road, and a third road that runs toward Buchanan, Va., on the left side of the map and toward Bedford, Va., on the right side.
