Title Note | Access to Section 2Q from US Highway 70 |
Date | 1970s |
Description | Photograph shows automobiles and access signs on Highway 70 (near Oteen, North Carolina) for the Blue Ridge Parkway near mile post 382.6 in section 2Q. Taken by C. E. Westveer. |
Commentary | This picture shows an exit ramp onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. This is important because it shows the accessibility from Asheville to other points of interest on the Blue Ridge Parkway. When section 2Q was opened in 1952, tourists found it easier to travel from Asheville to Craggy Pinnacle and Mount Mitchell. |
