At the time in 1940 it had not been built yet and the Buncombe County sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway would not begin to be constructed until the end of the decade. Edward H. Abbuehl took this photo a year after touring the area to see the proposed route for the Blue Ridge Parkway. |
