Description Reply to Dodge's letter. States that an understanding of the value of Western North Carolina for development, but reiterates desire for "just compensation". Refers to the fact that the Switzerland Company proposed to Frank L. Dunlap, chairman of the State Highway Commission, that the matter be arbitrated but it was not accepted.
Commentary Indicates that the State Highway Commission resisted arbitration and did not seem to understand how far the Clarkson's would take the matter. Box 11.
