About this Item
Title | Richardson Property between Richardson and Osborne Houses |
Date | March 30, 1939 |
Description | Photograph shows a wooden building on part of the Richardson property between the Richardson and Osborne houses in section 2C of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Taken by R.E.D. on March 30, 1939. |
Commentary | This property is between the Richardson and Osborne Houses. The Richardson and Osborne properties were contested land acquisitions. Richardson was a WWI Veteran who objected to having his land condemned after it had already been acquired. The Richardson, Osborne, and Cleary land was all involved in this dispute. This property, however, is not in the area of the Bluffs Park. Instead it is probably on the edge of the last edge of Section 2C at Air Bellows Gap. |
