Description Construction or re-construction of Brinegar Cabin, where the wood framing is exposed. Brinegar Cabin is located on milepost 238.5 near or in Doughton Park, off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Image taken from the National Park Service, Blue Ridge Parkway Headquarters and taken by "KCM" in December 1941.
Commentary Brinegar Cabin was the home of Martin and Caroline Brinegar. The Brinegar Cabin is a weather boarded log cabin with a frame shed addition, all covered by a hand-split wood shake roof.
