Sir:
A party of convalescents from Williamsburg and Petersburg belonging to the Hon. Major General St. Clair’s Division, now on their march to the Southern Army, merely enabled by their late recovery
from wounds and sickness to make the slowest marches, have to request from His Excellency, Thomas Burke, Esquire, the Quarter Master, Colonel Long, not having it in his power partially to supply them, a sufficiency of Spirits to supply them, and only necessarily to be distributed during their march. The Governor’s acquiescence shall be acknowledged by the officers of the party.
Delivered to Captain Blevis twenty Gallons Spirits by His Excellency’s order.
